The feeling of hopelessness, a constant feeling of dread for the next day, and going throughout the day in a daze. These are only a few of the symptoms of depression. Depression is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain. Many people with depression have multiple ways to treat depression. There is medication, one on one counseling, group therapy, or more specific therapies, such as CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy). There are many variables that play into the cause of depression, but the root of it all starts in the mind with neurotransmitters.
Neurotransmitters are chemicals in the brain that send messages to the nerve cells, they affect many different aspects of a person’s health, and a lack of neurotransmitters can cause depression.
