Relationships of Cells, Tissues, Organs, Organ Systems, and Organisms Cells make up anything and everything, they are the building blocks of life, and serve a big purpose in our bodies. For the body to function sufficiently each body part has its own job therefore every human body systems are required. If the body didn't have its own roles it wouldn't function properly and the different body parts wouldn't be able to support one other. • Cells are the basis related with any living thing. Cells also supply the body with nutrients, transform this into energy, execute specialised functions and they also provide structure for the body. Many different kinds of tissue works together to form one organ. All of the different tissues in this organ are made of the special cells for that tissue. Fat cells make fat tissue. Muscle cells make muscle tissue. Blood vessel cells make blood vessel tissue. Then, all the different tissues are joined to make an organ. This organ is skin. Organs contain two or more tissues. The liver, heart, and skin are organs of different tissue. There are many different organs in the body: the liver, kidneys, heart, even your skin is an organ. An organ is a tissue (or group of tissues) that have a particular function; like a stomach, eyeball or skin. An organ might have several functions, like the kidneys. They filter the blood but also generate hormones that regulate blood production. A tissue is a collection of identical or similar cells, such as a membrane or fat or blood or retina. Membranes and fat are typically identical cells, but blood and retinas contain different cells with similar or related functions. Organ systems are composed of two or more different organs that work together to provide a common function. There are 10 major organ systems in the human body, they are the: Skeletal system, Muscular System, Circulatory System, Nervous System, Respiratory System, Digestive System, Excretory System, Endocrine System, Reproductive System, Lymphatic System, and Immune System. The major role of the skeletal system is to provide support for the body, to protect delicate internal organs and to provide attachment sites for the organs. This system includes organs such as the bones, cartilage, tendons and ligaments. The muscular system provides movement throughout the body. Muscles work in pairs to move limbs and provide the organism with mobility. Muscles also control the movement of materials through some organs, such as the stomach and intestine, and the heart and circulatory
