I would describe Stella-Rondo as manipulative because she gets everyone to believe what she says and finds ways to turn everyone against her sister. For example, when Stella-Rondo first arrives back home after her failed marriage, she convinces everyone, except Sister, that Shirley-T is adopted even though she looks just like Papa-Daddy and Mr. Whitaker, and then lies about Sister saying something about Papa-Daddy's beard, so he gets mad at Sister, just because Sister didn’t believe that Shirley-T was adopted. Stella-Rondo also tells Uncle Rondo that Sister said something about his appearance because Sister said something that she didn’t like, which turned Uncle Rondo against Sister. She can also be described as spoiled because she gets everything she wants with no questions asked. When she was eight, she wanted one of those add-a-pearl necklaces, so Papa-Daddy got her one, and she threw it away in the trash when she was nine.
She is one of the most important characters in the story. The Antagonist is the woman’s role in marriage.
