Some of the ways that this creation myth reflects the people to whom it belongs is that the only god, Bumba, is a male. This represents that this may have been a patriarchal society. It also reflects that the Boshongo and Bakuba people were hardworking men. It is mentioned how many of Bumba’s sons after being created, continued his work. They created more creatures and plants in the world after his father finished his job.
‘He wants to fight, and we wouldn 't want to disappoint him.’ ‘He’s just a boy,’ Baba-man says again, and the man raises the butt of his rifle as if to strike Baba-jan in the face” (Staples 17). Najmah witnesses her father and brother get taken away by the Taliban and now Mada-jan and Najmah have to survive on their own together but since Mada-jan is pregnant, Najmah is the only strong one that can do the heavy and hard work. Okonkwo’s aggressive ways caused Nwoye to rely on Ikemefuna, A boy given to Okonkwo by a neighboring village, as an older brother who teaches him a more gentle form of masculinity. The bond between Nwoye and Ikemefuna was stronger than the bond between Nwoye and Okonkwo ever was because of Okonkwo’s refusal to demonstrate affection towards his son as it could make him appear weak. However, because of the death of Ikemefuna, Nwoye fears having to return to the harsh values of his father. Okonkwo’s stubborn ideas of masculinity ruined his relationship with his son beyond repair. Okonkwo’s refusal to show emotion towards his family pushed them apart which shows that Okonkwo is not willing to give up his stern values and reputation to be emotionally committed to his family.
Also if you look at the social structure the father is higher up the social structure than the son so it makes the
Delilah is offered only 20% of the business because she deserves the monetary reparation. I believe that Ms. Bea is generous enough to give Delilah ample amount of money so; Delilah can buy her car, house and take care of Peola. I don’t think Delilah deserves 50% since she didn’t have any money to partake for the business. Even if Delilah has money started up their pancakes business she won’t be successful because she don’t know how to manage. Also, Delilah’s race will play a big role in acquiring customer since she didn’t know anybody that would be finance her pancakes business.
The daughter yearns for approval and therefore the mother has more power. Tannen shows this by saying “Because a mother’s opinion matters so much, she has enormous power. Her smallest comment– or no comment at all; just a look– can fill a daughter with hurt and consequently anger” (450). This same idea is presented in Kimmel’s essay as well. He starts of by saying that he asked women what it means to be a women and they said it can mean whatever they want, but “For men, the question is still meaningful– and powerful” (469).
I concluded to myself that if I were the hunter, I would shoot the monkey so that it would no longer have the chance to put other hunters in the same predicament” (Beah 218). This foreshadowing shows that Ishmael would step up to stop more boys becoming a soldier. He didn’t avoid the question, instead he will choose to sacrifice his valuable one, and to stop this routine that way the monkey won’t hurt more people. Ishmael knows it’s difficult to stop this just like it’s difficult to stop boys getting involved in the war. Ishmael’s experience and his perseverance will help the boys walk out from the war, and stop more boys from becoming a
The children of high ranking individuals are likely to inherit their hierarchal rank. Unlike the chimpanzees, the bonobo are mostly frugivorous and much less conflict is seen within bonobo communities.
Aaron has a change of heart in the story, Zlateh the Goat, written by Isaac Singer because he realizes that Zlateh is a better gift than any Hanukkah gift he could receive. Aaron realizes that Zlateh can save his life. This is one factor that leads him to believe that Zlateh is better than a Hanukkah gift. In Zlateh the Goat, Aaron says, “ “For three days Aaron and Zlateh stayed in the haystack.”

Primates tend to take much better care of there infants with mothering qualities due to there intelligence which is far different than other mammals who sometimes give birth and leave there young. Primates care for there offspring much more than other mammals and do things that more closely resemble the care humans have when it comes to parenting as oppose to animals like dolphins and other mammals. There are six types of social groups which primates follow.

The Mirabal sisters were revolutionaries who opposed the dictatorship of Rafael Trujillo. During the revolution, they were given the code name “Las Mariposas”, or “the butterflies”. The term “mariposa” suits each sister in a different way. Patria, Dedé, Minerva, and Mate Mirabal each have their one reason to be compared to a butterfly. The nickname “mariposa” shows who the Mirabal sisters are; they transformed from domestic, innocent mothers and wives into brave, defiant martyrs for national freedom.

His fear of weakness and failure is derived from his father, Unoka’s failures, which ignite Okonkwo’s misogynistic views. Throughout his lifetime, Okonkwo associates femininity with weakness because of Unoka, who was called an “agbala” or woman by the people of Umuofia. Since women have this reputation for weakness, Okonkwo lives with constant fear that he will be given the same title as his father. Okonkwo’s first son, Nwoye’s effeminacy reminds Okonkwo of his own father. He says, "I have done my best to make Nwoye grow into a man, but there is much of his mother in him ."(Achebe, 66).
