Sunday, October 30th, history is made as families, friends, and any cubs supporters sit patiently waiting for the last out to be thrown. Then the moment comes when the final pass is thrown from Kris Bryant to Anthony Rizzo, and TV’s all around america announce “The Cubs, win the World Series!” Within seconds the whole country is shaken with excitement, laughs, even tears as the world loved team finally regained their title after 108 years. Just after we think the season and all the has finally come to an end, and all the celebrating and excitement has died down a bit, we are back again just in time for spring training. Our 2016 World Champion title holders, the Chicago Cubs, attempt to hold their title as they enter into 2017 and begin their season with spring training. Spring training is a series of practices and scrimmage games foregoing the start of the regular season. It allows both new and returning players to try out for the roster, lineup, and position spots while also giving the players practice time prior to regular season games. However, the Cubs aren't the only ones looking forward to spring training. Fans couldn't be more excited about seeing their champions back in action. Cubs fan Chris Schmitt who's watched the cubs ever since he was little says, “I still haven't gotten off of cloud nine. It feels as if yesterday was game seven and I was sitting in the living room waiting patiently for the time to come.
