Before coming to Full Sail University, I had encountered many obstacles. One in particular placed so much doubt in my mind and made me question if this was what I truly wanted to do, or who I wanted to become. Leave my family that is grieving over our loved one, or follow my dreams that my grandmother wanted to see being achieved? This was the hardest decision, each passing day tore me in two and knowing that both of you have doubts about this career choice, because you don’t see what it does and can do. What I’ve faced is similar to her, yet different as well this female artist started at the bottom and slowly worked her way to the top.

He used these flash backs and incorporated her family to go into depth about her past, and let the readers infer why she is the way she is. The bowling ball that is repeatedly mentioned throughout the story contrast her past life. By giving her a hobby, and showing the struggles she has experienced in her past, she becomes like a real person readers empathize with. To begin with, Casares often went back in time to show her seemingly unhappy life with her now deceased husband.

Music has been used by entertainers as a method of expression, and therefore often sheds light on prominent issues by illustrating relatable stories, or reactions to common problems. For example, The Drums, a modern Indie musical group, has composed the lyrics to the hit song “Money” to include imagery and repetition that work to expose the everyday struggle that impoverished Americans undergo.
