Dia de los Muertos means Day of the Dead, the Day of the dead is 2 days when we celebrate the death of loved ones. The first day of the celebration we cherish the life of our loved lost children. The second day we enjoy the life of everyone else, the adults and elders.

1. 1 tradition – decorating grave stones / honoring
On this day on of the traditions we do is honor the loved ones we lost. We do this by decorating the stones with paint, candles, pictures and decorative flowers. To show respect of the dead we also do things like clean out the grave and clean the bones of our respected relatives and/or close friends.
2. 2 tradition- sharing stories out loved lost ones, laying our offerings.

The Day of the Dead starts on November First and ends on November Second. On the first day (November First) we celebrate the life of the lost children and the life they had. This day is a day about the kids, partying all night until November second, celebrating and having fun enjoying and remembering the little, but amazing life our loved children had. The second day of Dia de los Muertos is celebrating everyone else, our parents, elders, aunts, and uncles, everyone and anyone. People do things like dressing up in fancy clothes, dresses, stilts and lots of makeup. On this day we also have other things like a fiesta. Even though we will always have our loved ones in our hearts the day of the day really helps us connect to our loved lost ones, it’s a time to feel their presents and spirt. One of the type of food they eat/ make is called a sugar skull, it is made just like it sounds, sugar mixed together them formed in a skill.
