This is means that we are not predetermined to be good or evil we choose our own path. Roger is another good example in the beginning they were all Good but by the end roger was the king of torture. Sam and Eric are another prime example they used to be on Ralph’s side but then they joined Jack’s tribe. Golding believes we all have the capacity to choose our own path. VI. Simons encounter with the Lord of the Flies Lord of the flies is another meaning for satin. Lord of the flies is a translation of the word Beelzebub. Simons encounter foretells the future that somebody is going to die when the lord of the flies says, “We are going to have fun on this island!” because if satin says we are going to have fun that means somebody is going to die. When Simon disobeyed The Lord of the Flies he was murdered by the kids on the beach. VII.
