And there are 1 million to 3 million runaway and homeless kids living on the streets in the United States.” In the critical literary novel, Everything, by Nicola Yoon, a 17 year old girl named Maddy, from Los Angeles was diagnosed with SCID from a young age. As her new neighbors move in, she falls in love, runs away and finds out a big secret, making her run off again. Dialogue, metaphors, and symbolism are all incorporated as author craft moves in Everything Everything by Yoon. The most prominent author’s craft move Yoon makes is dialogue. The author puts chats between Maddy and Olly throughout the novel to help understand them, and their characteristics.
