It is Historical Fiction because it’s based on “The Diary of Anne Frank “and has true events like when the Burglar comes in and hears them in the attic. (Goodrich and Hackett Page 486-487). That actually happened in the diary as well. I’m sure that Peter and Anne did kiss in the diary as well. They did have a thing with each other but they broke up and when he kisses her on (Goodrich and Hackett page 501). We don't know if those were the exact words that Anne and Margot exchanged on Goodrich and Hackett page 498.
