In the novel In Cold Blood, Truman Capote explores aspects of Perry Smiths and Richard Hickocks childhoods that may have affected their psychology and lead to the 1959 Clutter family murder. The fact that Truman Capote included these memories and old letters from their past was to show that he thought it played a part in the greater problem although he does not directly say that. He gives the reader the choice to decide for themselves, whether they think the awful childhoods of the main characters were the reasons they thought it was acceptable to murder a family in their own home in cold blood, or weather it was completely and fully their choice to commit this crime. From the way the writer describes Smiths past, it gives the reader the

Dick was the mastermind and instigator of the entire plan. Having already heard about the money from former cellmate Floyd Wells while in prison, Dick was not just interested in the money, but also about the teenage girl in the house whom he intends to rape. Dick used Perry as his personal servant using his mental illness as an advantage. Making him do his dirty work so just in case they got caught he could say he did not have anything to do with it. After the murder happened, Mr. Hickock showed no interest or even felt like discussing the murders.
Eric and Dick both had plans to kill. Eric never had much motive expect that he just hated the world. Dick had plan to kill the Clutters for the money he thought they had been hiding. Eric an Dick had both been found to have suffered from depression. An autopsy showed that Eric was taking Luvox which is a form of an anti-depressant.
This was because of how talented Eric and Dylan were in the art of manipulation. Nobody, not even the boys’ parents could have predicted what they were planning. Both boys appeared to have their futures planned. Eric was working on becoming a member of the Marines in order to please his parents, who were frustrated by his lack of consideration for his own future (Cullen 208). He even lied to a coworker, telling him that he planned to quit his job at Blackjack Pizza when he graduated.
Introduction Understanding the different reasonings why David Pietersz DeVries opposed the New Netherland Governor Willem Kieft’s tactics is vital because it allows us to understand the mindset of the people in the 17th century and why they did the things they did. DeVries’ document, “Voyages from Holland to America”, also gives people insight on the Governor’s senseless massacre of the Indian people in 1643. David DeVries was born in the early 1590s in Rochelle, France. He emigrated from France to New Netherland and became a patroon.
In Cold Blood is a well detailed book about the murder case of the clutter family. Although it has been banned for its sex, violence, and profanity, it has a well written story about a cold blooded murder. The two main characters Perry Smith and Richard Hickock where the two convicts that murdered the clutter family. Having a real story behind it makes it a bit more interesting giving it a real life scenario.

In the story of The Great Gatsby, people might have different opinions on who is to blame for the downfall of Gatsby. My belief is that Gatsby himself is to blame for his own fall. The first thing that Gatsby did to jeopardize his fall was moving across the bay, where he always had an eyes view of Daisy. Then the next thing that he did was not respecting the fact the Daisy and Tom were married and had a child together. The final thing that he did was trying to cover for Daisy and not telling the truth about what actually happened after the accident with Myrtle.
“The Jonestown Massacre, Remembered,” by Jennifer Latson explains about a man named Jim Jones, a cult leader and a socialist in California persuaded over 900 people to drink a poisonous substance to commit suicide. This was one of the events that wasn’t taught about in history classes due to the amount of people that were willing to kill themselves in order to obey Jim Jones. My main point’s that I plan to use on this topic is the author successful in making her point, the information is accurate, and if the information is valid in her article. The main points in this article is explaining what happened in the Guyana jungle on November 18, 1978, when a man named Jim Jones, who was a socialist and a strict tyrannical cult leader. He was strict with his leadership in fact, he would have his own followers beaten if they didn’t listen to his sermons.
The Psychopath Inside by James Fallon successfully educates the common reader through an interesting and completely factual series of events. Although some may call this an autobiography, Fallon describes it as his mother’s, or rather a memoir to good parenting. As I was reading this story, I never had felt overwhelmed by the information or bored because of his excellent way of explaining even the most complicated topics, such as what his PET scan revealed, how the warrior gene (MAOA) affects the human brain, etc. Fallon’s book is not only a page turner, but educational. Fallon writes about himself, his family, and some of the people who assisted in his final diagnosis.
