When you hear the word “hero,” what names come to mind? What exactly makes a hero? One thing I’m certain of is that Andrew Carnegie was definitely NOT one of them. A hero is someone with integrity, concern for others, and protects. Carnegie, a selfish but self-made, made poor and unethical actions and decisions, not owning the traits of a hero. As a philanthropist, he donated money to support education and other facilities. However, his philanthropy cannot cover up the fact that he was still a villain. That leads to the big question: Did Andrew Carnegie’s philanthropy make him a hero? In my opinion, his philanthropy did not make him a hero at all for various reasons.
