“ The Philanthropy of Andrew Carnegie” was written in the second half of the 19th century. During this time railroads, oil, flour, and tobacco were being introduced. Nothing was more successful as the steel industry that Andrew Carnegie introduced. Andrew Carnegie is known as being a “hero” to many people during this time of period. Carnegie has courage, concern for others, and charisma.
Was Andrew Carnegie a Hero? Andrew Carnegie was a successful businessman. He was born in Scotland. In 1848, His family moved to the United States. When he was 24, he became a supervisor of the railroad company.
He even starved himself to show help people. He was a person who put people above him and never gave up on any cause he put his heart into. Never did he show weakness he was strong for the people he supported he was a hero. He didn't have to get better working conditions for those people he didn't have to keep living conditions equal after he made enough to survive he could have given himself so much more but he didn't he keep things equal.

He was a robber baron who made a fortune in the steel industry and applied vertical integration to his business. Carnegie contradicted his views as a robber baron because he supported, but destroyed many unions. This made many of his views unethical.

Another example why he is influential is because the same website says, ”Now treated as heroes, Wilbur and Orville Wright continued to set new records in distance and duration in front of amazed crowds.” This piece of evidence shows me that people around the world see him as a hero to the world because it says they were treated as heroes. Last piece of evidence is according to the same website it says, “A hero like Wilbur Wright is someone who follows their dreams.”
There will always be different opinions from the people. The way someone believes is what defines them as a person. An example of this, is Andrew Carnegie’s views. He believes the rich should invest money in order to create a better society. The views of Andrew Carnegie are consider ethical.

Andrew Carnegie was not a hero because he didn’t help those who needed it most, believed in Social Darwinism, and was leading society into a downfall.
