The decision I made about Edgar Allan Poe’s cause of death was rabies. It’s the right one because there were lots of proofs and reasons that he may have got bitten by a rabid animal a few years before his death. But still, Poe’s cause of death is mysterious. No one knows what happened to him or the cause of his death. Fans and other professionals have tons of theories on what causes Poe’s death, including beating, alcohol poisoning, rabies, murder, carbon monoxide poisoning, diabetes, etc. Edgar Allan Poe was born on January 19, 1809 in Boston, Massachusetts. He was a great writer, poet, critic, and editor. “The Raven” which he published in 1845, is considered among the best-known poems in American literature. Poe’s parents were Elizabeth Arnold Poe, a British actress, and David Poe, Jr., an actor who was born in Baltimore. His father left their family early in Poe’s life, and, his mother passed away because of tuberculosis when he was only three.

That means Edgar Allan Poe did not die of alcohol poisoning, and did not drink alcohol six months before his death. I had then switched my theory to rabies death theory. Fact-finding, I discovered many ideas and reasons about why and how Poe’s cause of death was because of rabies. Dr. Benitez was one of the scientist that announced that Poe may have got bitten from his pet years before his death, causing him to have rabies, as reported by the University of Maryland Medical
