Jared Diamond's Theory On - Guns, Germs, and Steel
Jared Diamond created a theory, and he made a 3 part documentary on National Geographic. His theory was that inequality was because of the geography and the invention of guns, germs, and steel. The geography is why the Europeans and the Egyptians were ahead of their time. The Europeans started with great fertile land for farming foods to keep their people fed. Guns, Germs, and Steel are some other reasons why other civilizations were more advanced in technology. Jared Diamond’s theory started when a guy named Yali came up to him and asked “How does white man have so much cargo and New Guineans have so little?” this is what started this all was that one man.

These germs first came from animals like cows horses and pigs. Theses animals were there because of the geography let the animals live there because it was the perfect place for them to live. The Europeans were exposed to diseases like smallpox and for many years their people died because of these diseases. Eventually, their ancestors developed resistance to the theses disease which killed millions of their people. Later, when the Europeans traveled into the land of the Incas, they brought the same disease’s to them. Soon most all of the Incas got sick with the diseases like the smallpox and many of them died. But, the germs also backfired on the Europeans. They were being exposed to new diseases like malaria when the tempted to settle in Africa. Their animals like cows, horses, and pigs started dying and could not be used for work. Then instead of being a strong civilization, they soon became weak. However the Africans were thriving and still being successful because they developed immunity and learned lifestyle which helped them avoid infection from mosquitoes, carriers of the malaria parasite. Unfortunately the Africans, Europeans destroyed their way of life, putting them at risk for malaria. Even today malaria is the number one risk for children under 5yrs
