Dystopian literature is a insubstantial universe that under totalitarian control. The main goal of a dystopian society is to make everything the same in the worst case scenarios. The two novels "1984” and “Harrison Bergeron" and the movie "The Purge2" all relates and compare to the dystopian literature by citizens being controlled by government or some type of dictatorship. Society in the dystopian movie and two novels have plenty of the same similar and different characteristics, controls, and protagonist. Each novel and the film has protagonist that fools society is completely wrong and is not right. With everything Winston went through he believes and knows society was wrong. “He writes down big brother.” (George Orwell #6) Winston does not like his society and feels that big brother is wrong and that citizens should not have to be watched the way they are. George felt they were wrong because government tried to make everything and everybody equal. “If I get away with it then everybody will get away with it soon. “( Kurt Vonnegut, Jr #2) it made him angry because if he did something or worked hard to do it, everyone else would get what he worked hard for. In the Purge, they didn’t like it because they didn’t have a choice to decide if they were purging. “If you’re not purging, I advise you to get off the streets and lock up.”( James Demonaco) It was either die or kill. They were all the same but were ran and controlled by other things. Winston had others watching him close because he did bad things and they watched every step he took. “Amateur spies none out of orthodoxy” (George Orwell #12) they had no freedom at all and had undercover watching him.
