Between Honolulu, Hawaii and Montreal, Canada they have a lot of things differently and in common. Honolulu was founded in 1850 by Kamehameha lll. Honolulu is the capital of Hawaii and it is under US control. Honolulu is located on the Southern shore of Oahu. The history behind Honolulu, Hawaii is that it’s the largest city in the middle of the Pacific Ocean with the largest population. Honolulu is known for the Waikiki Beach and the dormant volcano which is called the Diamond Head. . “The Gathering Place” is the city’s nickname and the state motto is, “Ua mau ke ea o ka aina I ka pono” which means, "The life of the land is perpetuated in righteousness." In Montreal, Canada it is known for the most populous municipality in Canada province of Quebec and then the second most populous in Canada as a whole. French is the city’s official language and is spoken at home by 49.8%of the population of the city and then 22.8% speaks English and 18.3% is other languages.
