Okay so were going to start off with codes. Which is in other words the set of rules and directions they must follow by. Japan, samurais, followed the code of Bushido which was much more strict than the Europeans code. “Gi”-Integrity, a samurai must be trusted to make the right decisions for the clan even if that meant he was left alone in doing so. “Yuuki”- bravery and courage. To show courage every moment of living in danger or not. “Jin”- Kindness and compassion. To be kind to everyone regardless. “Rei”- politeness. Its more than being just kind its

“Makoto”- Honesty. Following the laws to the universe it will make you an honest person. “Meiyo”- To enjoy the honor. Samurais must enjoy the honor if following the rules of bushido. “Chuugi”- To be loyal. Showing trustfulness to all and to be loyal. Even the samurai must kill himself to keep his honor. That is some of the codes of Japan now lets move on to chivalry the code followed the European knights. Knights had similarities to Bushido they both had to promise to have courage when fighting in battle. But a difference with the code of chivalry is that humiliation was an important part of their rules. If a knight did not keep their promise to be courageous and brave and noble when in battle they are punished with public humiliation. They usually fought for their churches and it was rare to find a knight acting cowardly
