The Great Gatsby is a story told by Nick Carraway, who lived in the Midwest and moved to New York to learn the bond business. He lives in a little home next to Gatsby’s enormous house in a place called East Egg. On that same day, Nick payed a visit at his cousin's house, Daisy Buchanan on the West Egg side, he met Tom Buchanan (her husband), and Jordan Baker. Jordan and Daisy convinced Nick to stay for dinner. During dinner, Tom got a phone call and Daisy went to go follow him, during that time Nick finds out that Tom has a mistress out in New York. Tom took Nick to go meet his mistress, Myrtle Wilson, who is married to George Wilson. He owns a gas station and lives there with his wife. The 2013 film version was full of flashbacks of the past while Nick Carraway narrated the story of The Great Gatsby to his psychiatrist. The setting in this new movie was somewhat in the period of the 1920’s. However, the music, the behavior, and the costumes made the movie look too modern for the 1920’s. The new movie was somewhat like the book, but there were some events that were skipped or were not included. What I liked about the movie was that the graphics were much better than the old the movie. The audio was much better, since you could clearly hear everyone's conversations. The only events that were different in this movie than the older version was that it showed Nick talking to his psychiatrist, Myrtle getting struck by a car, and Gatsby pulling aside Jordan to talk to her privately. Another difference was that, in the newer movie, the conversations seemed less boring and were not as long as in the old movie. Lastly, at the end of the movie, it showed that George Wilson shot Gatsby once in the back with his gun not multiple times like the older
