One of the differences is that amaries village was full of joy and happiness but there isn't really much joy or happiness at the plantation. Then another differences is that in her village amarie could come and go as she pleased but slaves weren't allowed to leave the plantation. At amaries village she had her family and besa but at the plantation all she has is teenie and polly.
The poems Nothing Gold Can Stay and Abandoned Farmhouse have many things in common. Some of those things are that both of their themes are change. I know this because in the poem Nothing Gold Can Stay it has the words “Then leaf subsides to leaf” and the words” So dawn goes down to day”. This means that the current day is ending and a new day is beginning. I know the poem Abandoned Farmhouse has change because the writer says there was a lot of trash in their yard.
These are similarities because they both tell how the song hypnotizes people. Another difference is the excerpt has a lot of imagery to describe the settings, the way something feels or the descriptions of something that is happening. The poem doesn’t have any imagery in it rather it has forms of manipulation, sarcasm, and Irony. These affect the rhythm of the story and the theme of both passages.
The same thing goes for “On the Pulse of The Morning”. There really isn’t a different message between the poems they both say that we are the same but we still have our own unique features. We created the

Poetry and a painting are both different. In poetry, we use our brain to read and we think about what the poetry means. In painting, we use our eyes to look at the painting, which is obvious. We evaluate the color, the background and so on. At the same time however, Poetry and painting are also similar.

My poem "Tale of Light and Dark" is similar to the poem "Tale of Fire and Ice" by Andrea Dietrich in many ways such as the title, literary devices, structure, and punctuation. My title is set up the same way as Dietrich, having the title compare two opposite things. In Dietrich's poem she used a lot of different types of literary devices that I mimic such as repetition, simile, symbolism, rhyme scheme, and imaginary. Repetition is repeating a word or phrases throughout the poem. Both poems had the last line of each stanza repeat the sentence "or let it stray?

Kooser utilizes symbolism in a significant way to show that the man is not only living in poor conditions due to abandonment but also to explain to the readers the feeling of abandonment. Poetry is a piece of literature where the author shares his ideas of a subject or person. He is attempting to allow the reader an understanding of his feelings regarding this subject. Most of the time poetry can be very pleasing to the ear; however, at times it can be written in a manner that is odd. Some poetry is written in a way that the reader can “hear”, “feel”, “see” or “taste” elements in the poem. Some poems may rhyme while others may not need to in order to convey the message.
Poems are short meaningful pieces of literature that can be interpreted in multiple ways depending upon the reader at hand. That is what makes a poem unique compared to other literature pieces because in a poem the author tends to use figurative language to fulfill meaning behind their work. One poem “Love is a Sickness Full of Woes” by Samuel Daniel describes the pains of being lovesick. Love can either benefit us if nurtured and cared for, but if not tended to then let loose can ultimately hurt us. As to another poem “American Solitude” by Grace Schulman describes a life of solitude being most warming to the soul to ward off loneliness.
