Both the United States invasion of Iraq in 2003 and the French invasion of Egypt in 1798 demonstrated recurring themes and issues that take place when native populations are occupied by more powerful nations. Because the operations took place more than two centuries apart from one another, physical differences between the two invasions can be seen quickly and clearly, while more subtle psychological similarities between the two empires are harder to analyze. One would think that two hundred years of progress would put an end to the reappearing tragedies of violent conflict, but the personal qualities of humans constantly reappear. Throughout the events of both the U.S. invasion of Iraq and French invasion of Egypt, key differences between operational

At his arrival in England, Solomon is astonished by the numerous differences between his culture and the British’s culture. He is irritated and offended when he first meets Demise especially on how she dresses and how she question him as if they are in the same age group, “She is asking him questions that do not concern her, and it troubles him that she cannot see that he is a grown man and she is merely a child” (Phillips, A Distance Shore 165). Among the many reasons why Solomon likes Dorothy very much is because of this one, she is one person that Solomon finds respectable in her own surroundings since she recognizes that Solomon is an adult, a grown man who deserves to be respected, and for that among other reasons, Solomon likes her very much.

So why do Americans pay an average of thirty seven thousand dollars just for college tuitions? The price we pay for education is excessive, and the average cost continues to increase every year. The four years of education from colleges and universities following high school should be free in the United States. Though there are some side effects to having free college, such as higher taxes, the positive impacts that they can provide greatly exceed the negative.
