The focus of my essay is on the differences in managerial and political ideologies between Peoples Republic of China and the United States. The emergence of China as a global economic super power over the past several decades has had a huge impact worldwide and in the United States. China is predicted to have the largest economy worldwide within just a few years. China has achieve this success with a different political and economic construct. As Dambisa Moyo states in her Ted Talk (filmed June 2013) “first time in a long time a real challenge to the Western ideological systems of politics and economics, and this is a system that is embodied by China. And rather than have private capitalism, they have state capitalism. Instead of liberal democracy, they have de-prioritized the democratic system. This collectivist culture still influences the management culture in China in a big way. In The United States organizations have a far more individualistic culture, which emphasizes individual tasks, goals, and performance. For Americans, achievements and success are deemed far more important than seniority, or any type of social standing or class.
