Walter Mitty Essay The story of Walter Mitty is a confusing one. There are two different versions of it, one is the short story “The Secret life of Walter Mitty” by James Thurber. The other version is the 2013 movie that was directed by Ben Stiller. In this essay I will give you my opinion of which version is better. You can hear the different characters' voices and see what type of person they are with their tone and by what they wear. In the story you have no idea on how old the characters are, so they could be retired and really old or they could be really young and just starting a job. You also can see the objects that the characters have and you can see when he buys stuff or has it in his bag. You could get confused by the characters' names in the story, but in the movie you see what they look like so it is easier to remember which character is which. Finally, the movie gives a lot more detail than the story. In the story it leaves you on a cliff hanger and you have to infer or guess what would have happened next. In the movie it tells the story all the way up to where it was written, then it goes past and finishes it so you do not have to guess what happened. The movie is also a lot more different than the story because the story only talks about Walter Mitty and his wife in a city going to different places, but it all happens in one day. While the movie shows you multiple days of Mitty’s life and you get a lot more detail from
