Not every mythical being is a hairy monster, wicked spirit, trickster, or terrifying animal with a thirst for blood. In fact, unicorns are quite the opposite; they are peaceful and docile creatures that have captured the hearts and attention of humans of all cultures for centuries. Today, most people view unicorns as sparkly and white horses with long horns and long manes. In depictions of ancient Asian and European cultures however, unicorns were much different. The European version of a unicorn consisted of coats that ranged anywhere from brown, red, or white.
