I have reached the conclusion, that I must develop a repeatable plan to avoid my most probable oversights or mistakes concerning plagiarism. “He did not smoke, and of course he did not drink; indeed, he had never tasted spirits, and was inclined to avoid people who had—a circumstance that did not shrink his social circle as much as might be supposed, for the center of that circle was supplied by the members of Garden City's First Methodist Church,a congregation totaling seventeen hundred ,most of whom were as abstemious as Mr. Clutter could desire.’’ (10) ( Culture and Community ) Capote used this quote to illustrate the culture of the village of Holcomb, where Mr.Clutter lived and how the social life of a religious family is rooted in their church. The inclusion of multiple citations and references can be challenging and it is important to stay organized while composing writing assignments. One of the most recognizable advantages of utilizing the APA style is ensuring that the author of research integrated into my work receives proper recognition. The piece of writing which I felt was unsuccessful for me was the Rhetorical Analysis of an article relating to a topic from our course book The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness by Michelle Alexander. This piece of writing was difficult for me to organize my ideas around. The article that I decided to use for my rhetorical analysis highlighted mass incarceration among African American and the effect of civil liberties being are taken away from these individuals. I had a lot of repetition because many of the examples I used demonstrated more than one type of appeal. I found myself repeating what the purpose of the example was and how it demonstrated proper use of ethos, pathos, and logos.
The motif I chose was Dystopia, I picked this because the story Scythe showed multiple examples of why it was dystopian. The book showed how the Scythes world was very unrealistic and showed lots of injustice to those who were gleaned because they could not get away, that was the rule made by the Scythes. In the beginning of Scythe, Rowan witnessed a “gleaning” he was then framed for being involved, even though he had actually tried to stop the gleaning. The word gleaning is another word for kill, Scythes used gleaning as their way of keeping the population down, and to be in control of the people.
One of my goals during this course was to gain a better understanding in this subject and avoid plagiarism in every aspect of writing. The assignment on plagiarism taught me a lot. Before, I did not know paraphrasing was considered a form of plagiarism. Throughout this course I have worked hard to give credit to writers, authors and every source of my information in my writings. I believe I have improved in this area.
A decision's effects can be profound. Selfishness is frequently associated with decision-making, but is it really selfish if it's for the greater good? This question is incorporated into John Steinbeck's novella, Of Mice Men, in which George had to make a pivotal decision for the better. Throughout the novella, George is responsible for Lennie, who is mentally handicapped. Due to his mental impairment, Lennie lacks self-awareness in his strength and is unable to refrain from harming people and the animals he cares for.
Of Mice and Men One time, standing in my cabin, I glanced outside to see the grazing horses and the jumping rabbits. I felt light, yet remorse, because rabbits are a symbol in the book Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. Rabbits were the fixation Lennie had and hope he held on to for a better future. John Steinbeck gives a hopeful, sorrowful tone throughout the whole book Of Mice and Men (1937). In the book, George and Lennie bounce around from job to job, never having a solid place to call home.
Jamison Seese Mr. Kelley English 9 February 9, 2023 Hopes and Dreams Do people's hopes and dreams, even those that may never come true help them to survive? In any school you have attended, plagiarism is a situation that a writer should not put themselves in under any circumstances. When reading the essay “Something Borrowed,” Malcolm Gladwell gave insight into the flaws of plagiarism that writers may not have thought about before. The first being that plagiarism is never acceptable (927). The second issue with plagiarism is recognizing the differences that can or cannot “inhibit creativity” (931). Being inspired by another person's work can help and guide you to build your own ideas, but simply taking their work and claiming it as yours is not permitted.

Professor Denson and fellow classmates, I do not actually have any direct quotes in my research paper to pull from for this discuss, however for this sandwich I will create some. I have never used direct quotes due to the rules and regulations around them, to me, it is easier to write my story and paraphrase as needed. This is just my way of handing, and writing, and I as we all know have no issues talking so writing is just that on paper. With that said, here goes let’s make some sandwiches (: I. Dr. Fredric Neuman (2013) in his article in Psychology Today, A Cure For Panic Disorder and Agoraphobia, states that doctors do not want to talk about cures when it comes to mental illness, when he states: “Too many illness are remitting and relapsing-that
Ursula Le Guin defines Omelas as a utopia where the citizens’ lives are never wretched. Le Guin captures her readers’ attention by describing the city’s beauty with the colorful scenery, events featuring games and horse riding, and the everlasting happiness. She does a great job of leading her readers into thinking this could be the perfect society, but leaves us with the question of satisfaction. According to Le Guin, “happiness is based on a just discrimination of what is necessary, what is neither necessary nor destructive, and what is destructive” (p. 2). This quote means that there must be a balance for the society to succeed.
