What to Consider for a MYCAA Scholarship The Department of Defense (DOD) understands that military life means moving from one location to another with each new duty station assignment and that on-campus courses are often interrupted or cancelled due to relocations. The Military Spouse Career Advancement Account (MyCAA) program was established by the DOD to specifically help eligible dependent spouses of military members who want to pursue or finish higher educational studies that will benefit their future earning potentials. To be eligible for the MyCAA program, you must be the spouse of an active duty military member, including Reserve and National Guard service personnel on Title 10 assignments, within qualifying pay grades. The primary function of the MyCAA program is to help military spouses obtain the educational credentials in professional careers with valuable employment potential wherever the military family is stationed. The MyCAA program is not currently available for spouses of Coast Guard personnel because the USCG is governed by the Department of Homeland Security and not the DOD.
It’s not just inside the class that’s important, but it’s also the extracurricular activities outside the class which benefit you as well. Having a staff job has a great affect on improving your leadership skills; it makes you put what you learned during your first two to three years to the test,whether you’re a Platoon Leader or the Administration Officer. Even being a part of some of the teams we offer can help a cadet go a long way. Being involved in NJROTC gives me an advantage because it helps challenge my leadership skills inside and outside the program. It gives a person many leadership challenges.

Although JROTC still has its military structure and sense of discipline, it has left behind most of its early military content. Studies of citizenship, communications, leadership, and life skills are the core of JROTC now. JROTC prepares high school students for leadership roles while making them aware of their rights and privileges as American citizens.
Once looked upon primarily as a source of enlisted recruits and officer candidates, it became a citizenship program devoted to the moral, physical and educational uplift of American youth. The program continues its military structure and the result ability to infuse in its student cadets a sense of discipline and order, it shed most of its early military content. The study of citizenship, communications, leadership, life skills and other subjects to prepare young men and women to take their place in adult society. More recently, an improved student centered curriculum focusing on character building and civic responsibility is being presented in every JROTC classroom.
The purpose JROTC is to help motivate the citizens of America to become better than what they were before. The main mission was first introduced since 1916 during the original JROTC when congressed passed the National Defense Act. However this tradition of combining formal education with military studies goes back so far as ancient Greeks. Some of JROTC desired goals were leadership education and training goals for the cadets such as graduate high school, learn the importance of citizenship through American history. So far the extend main mission of the origins of the past does help improve my skills of being right minded, understanding skills and techniques of leadership, and knowing the dangers of addiction.
The Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps’ mission statement is to, “To motivate young people to be better citizens.” JROTC prepares young men to have leadership and to have benefits in their citizenship. JROTC prepares young men to be independent to be in charge of others that could benefit others to be better leaders. JROTC provides different activities such as service learning projects, which is a project which gives opportunities of knowledge, discipline, and a sense of responsibility to take for the future. There are certain goals that JROTC wants cadets to accomplish to be a better citizen.
My steadfast desire to attend a service academy is rooted from my determination to become the best officer I can possibly be. Service academies focus on a career in the military which has become by life 's dream. The atmosphere at a service academy ensures I will have every resource available to help me mature mentally, morally, and physically to reach my goal. Traditional colleges or universities may offer some military oriented courses such as ROTC programs, however, I am not seeking a course, I am seeking a lifestyle which is assured at a service academy. I feel the daily rigors presented at a service academy will help me prepare for the challenges I will be faced within the fleet more so than a traditional college or university.
To prepare an officer selection and training program for organization officers I chose to do it on the Scottsdale Honors Cotillion organization. Scottsdale Honors Cotillion is a tax-exempt public charity, which was created and initiated in 1965. This organization only allows Scottsdale city school female, senior students to participate, such schools would be Chaparral, Cactus Shadows, Arcadia, Coronado, Desert Mountain, Phoenix Country Day, Notre Dame Preparatory, and Saguaro High school. There are many guidelines in order to be considered for membership into this organization and such guidelines would include: having and maintaining a average overall GPA of a 3.0 or higher, continue as a full time student at your school, attend a chosen
As a young student, I would often see many college students deeply focused on their work. Seeing them motivated me to learn more and concentrate on the two most important things in life, learning and helping others. I was always interested in learning about Cyber Security and protecting personal data against hackers trying to attack the network. I want to continue my studies through graduate level education in computers. I strongly feel like the Early College Program will help me achieve my goals.
As I am getting ready to begin my college years, my experience in America is getting richer every day. I have realized how much opportunities I have being an American citizen and living in this part of the world compared to the life i lived in Togo and I intend to make the most of it. Idaho State University is one of Idaho’s most popular universities because it offers a wide variety of studies for many professions especially those of the health field. Because Idaho State offers an abundant amount of scholarships and the tuition for in-state residents is cheaper, many students consider it as a very possible choice for college education. Idaho State accepts about 95% of its applicants, so admission is minimally difficult. Idaho State is just one of many colleges that follow a semester calendar, and because it is a possibility for many students in Idaho, switching from a trimester system to a semester system would greatly benefit those who plan on attending college.
