World War Two is seen as a victory for Americans, but for us, it was a total disaster. Those fighting on the front lines saw the loss of lives of their friends and other people and the civilians faced constant fear of the bombs. I was one of the same people who feared death from day to night. Even though I was small, I still remember the horrific scenes and effects of World War Two. To start with, as I said before that Germany was hit by constant bombing, so my parents and I have to find a safe place. This safe place was nothing more than a disaster itself because of a lot of people squeezed in one place, people sleeping on railway tracks in underground areas and having less food to even feed for twice a day. In 1941, clothes were also rationed causing people to make and mend themselves. The houses and building were completely ruined because of the bombing. My house was turned into ash when I came to see it after the war. There is no estimate of the number of bombs that hit Britain; however, this is evidence that even a single bomb caused a lot of disasters. I and my friends saw a lot of things that are still a part of my memory as the dead body of other civilians lying everywhere, and we make fun of it and not recognizing the hardship that person might have gone through. I lived underground during the bombing, but my friend told me that she was not allowed to open light during the night because you would be the next one to get hit. As the bombers used lights to find and attack at the night. To prevent this, they have to use blinds to make everything look dark at night. Even the car drivers did not use the light of that car to prevent the bombing; however, this has been researched that a lot of people died due to not using their cars light. There were those families that felt secured to send their children to other places like camps which were upheld by Hitler
