The complexity of color to me simply means discrimination based upon the skin tone of ones’ skin. It’s been many debates about the different skin tones and their traits and the way their actions are perceived. You get judged for simply being yourself. In my opinion, this topic is merit for further discussion and research due to the importance of discrimination. Discrimination is still going on in the world we live in today, which is very sad. Today’s society should be able to read on how others feel and be able to sympathize with those being judge. Every skin tone has its flaws. You’re either too light or too dark. We all have same to a conclusion that the light skin, skin tones tends to have a lot of advantages and disadvantages. For example, some places they black people aren’t wanted, light skins can get away with going there. Caucasian males aren’t looked at the same as black males. Black males are the hood gangsters, while Caucasian males are the smart nerds. If you see a black guy walking the street, you would assume that he is uneducated. Also society views African American humans as loud, ghetto, and ratchet. While the Caucasians are smart, wealthy, and outstanding citizens. For example, black males are shot down for harmless crimes and white males are pepper sprayed and arrested. Also keeping in mind they are alive after the fact.
The condition has gotten a tad bit better, but still is basically a problem in today’s society. It has always been problem with discrimination, but it seems like now more than ever. You look on the news every day to see different skin tones shot down. What I realize is that it is different skin tones but the same race. It has gotten better because we now share the same schools, bathrooms, dining halls, etc. together. Segregation has gotten better but discrimination as a whole
