I agree with the author that society is mostly unaware of the courteous granted to white people. The think that is just how it is. On the other hand, it is my opinion that people of color don’t realize the hardships and burden that a lot of white people face. It is not a one size fits all bag. The people of color think it is only directed at them. I’ve had numerous experiences where the color of my skin did not grant me any consideration. I have been in some circumstances where I was scared for my life or treated extremely harsh for no reason. I personally think it is bizarre to make a judgment about someone based on the color of his or her skin. It is an invisible opening to white people. It is pervasive and most white people are total oblivious to it. Racism is discriminate against others because of color, religious association, ethnic background, or some other specific characteristic. Racism to me makes no sense and is reinforced by lack of education.
Q1. Farmers philosophy and values are proving care to all in need, working to support the less fortunate regardless of the rules, using funds for the good of a society outside of rules made by people not involved, trying to change the culture slowly, values life, hardworking being caring/personable and resourceful.
Q2. I agree people are comfortable in their environment, wishing for change but not participating. Sending money relieves the guilt without the experience. People don’t want to get down to the nitty gritty. A soft warm bed or house with a TV/computer is much more comfortable. You don’t have to think about the suffering of others and when you do, send money.
Q3. He been there awhile and adjusted. Farmer accepted people where they are. He knows you can’t change a society without being involved and caring for them. He is wise and knows not to pass judgment, because everyone
