“Dissociation” indicates a state which a person fails to integrate all of his or her own aspects. Dissociative Identity Disorder, also known as Multiple Personality Disorder, is a mental disorder characterized by appearance of at least two distinct and relatively enduring identities or dissociated personality states that alternately show in one’s behavior. DID reverberates a person fails to incorporate varied facets of personalities, consciousness and memory into an individual with several aspects. Psychologist in this field treats patients by rewarding favorable behaviors and punishing unfavorable behaviors just like how Nazi used in Concentration camp. Applying this to DID, the psychologist can treat DID patient by rewarding when the patient shows original personality and punishing different personalities but there can be conflict on miss counting characters therefore they have to careful by asking countless question that would not lead DID patient into psychotic person.
Cognitive psychologist believes that human struggles whenever they have to go through negative thoughts inside their mind. Psychologist in this field treats patients by using attributional style by attacking patient’s illogical thoughts and forcing them to recognize the absurdity of their negative thinking. Applying this to DID, the psychologist can treat DID patient by eliminating other negative personalities by making logical arguments based on patient’s argument, to eliminate patient’s self-serving
