The popular 1957 movie “The Three Faces of Eve” depicts a newly introduced actress (Joanne Woodward) as Eve White, a sweet, simple, and loving suburban housewife who on a particular spring day doesn’t seem at all as her normal self. She suffers from headaches and blackouts frequently, and as a result her husband takes her to a local Psychiatrist. Once in the office alone with Doctor Luther ( Lee J. Cobb) the flirtatious and wild Eve Black reveals herself, starting the roller coaster storyline that is “The Three Faces of Eve.” The movie claims to be mostly facts as the clinical report was so wild not much they didn’t have to write in much, and this seems to be true based on what I’ve read from various websites. Each Psyche has their own triggers to change from personality to personality, Black’s is physical pain, Eve’s is emotional stress. However, at one point Eve’s emotional stress is too much and she forms a third personality named Jane. Jane doesn’t seem to have a trigger, at least not one that the movie shows. Jane seems to be the simple, open minded, loving mother figure that is loved by all. Jane at one point becomes the obvious favorite of the other Psyches, seeing as how she doesn’t appear damaged at all. Eve knows that she is ill and may never get better so she is in a constant state of depression. Black is constantly worried that she will disappear and leave nothing behind for nothing to remember her, as well as having to watch over Eve, so she is in a constant state of fear and alarm. Jane however, could really care less either way to what happens, as long as she’s in good health. In the end, the Psyches seem to meld together, giving Jane full control and all of her memories back in one place, seeing to be a “cure” to the
