In this article, Bridget discusses the three main categories of distractions. She also combines those three categories of distractions into one to
Distractions are used all around, small and big. In Fahrenheit 451, citizens own Seashells which are little radio thimbles. Most people have them in for most of the day. “Seashells, the thimble radios tamped tight, and an electronic ocean of sound, of music and talk and music and talk coming in, coming in on the shore of her unsleeping mind.”

He took out his MP3 player and a set of headphones; he started listening to it and working on his quiz. he started doing his work with no distraction all the other sounds were locked out by the music he was listening to. Even though Some students find listening to their MP3 player during study hall distracting , for some others, it helps them focus on their own thoughts because an MP3 player could also serve as a tool for learning, and it is used to help students with ADD/ADHD (Attention Deficit Disorder/Attention Deficit Hyperactivity disorder).
After observing the clients behavior, it is evident that she has a problem limiting her excessive cellular device usage. Therefore, the behavioral intervention plan will be targeting the client’s cellular device usage in class, as well as outside of class. The plan will be targeting all cellular device usage, which includes playing games, texting, scrolling though social media sites, and finally listening to music. To prevent the client from using her phone during lectures, the behavioral plan instructed her professors to make her write an essay whenever she is using her phone.

A distracted driver would travel the length of a football field when driving sixty miles per hour (Hollister, 2013). The length and amount of time could cause a horrific accident. Traffic safety researchers at Virginia Tech also recognized that those who participate in the act of texting and driving will be twenty-three times more likely to crash (Johnson, 2012). Everyone can see the evidence that distracted driving exists, specifically texting and driving. The people need to recognize it.
Although Kahn is convinced that a cell phone ringing in a class will leave the surrounding students “significantly impair[ed],” one might disagree about the level to which other students even notice (197). Be assured, there have been moments during class discussions where phones have gone off and no other student has noticed. Though I agree with much of what Kahn stands for, I am not persuaded that a ringing phone leaves students with such impairment. The average student can decide the amount to which such an event will influence their attention and be able to readjust if the event skewed them off course. While a cell phone in a classroom has the potential to distract one from the material being taught, the lack thereof has helped seen an increase in grade and an increase in extra credit

Lastly taking your mind off the road is cognitive distraction for example conversation on the phone while driving.
Students will develop a new routine with phones, one key part of the routine will be putting their phone on mute. This means that the students would not be distracted when they get text or calls. On a text message, there is a switch where the students couldn't even see their incoming texts. There for, they will not be tempted to respond to texts because they won’t have any idea when they get one. This proves that the students could not be distracted when doing their class work.
