How Do Corporations Target Teens?
Advertising and corporations tend to attack teens. The reason behind this is because teens tend to be more unsuspecting than adults. They know that if they target mainly towards teens, then more of their products will be sold and they will get more money. Another reason supported by Knorr Caroline (2014) is that corporations target teens by asking celebrities to advertise for them. Another reason is that advertisers know that teens are gullible, so when they advertise to them, it is helping their company because they are buying their products. Knorr Caroline (2014) has the idea that advertisers focus on targeting teens because they ask celebrities to advertise for them, which is obviously going to capture the viewers attention, considering that if they claim to love a product and persuade well enough, they should be sure to buy it as well. A fact is that teens have a lot of social media accounts, and since advertising is all over social media, teens can’t help but be interested in that. In addition to that, most of the foods that come in boxes or containers often have celebrities, or t.v show pictures to attract teenagers and/or kids. All of these sneaky ways causes the teens to want to buy the product, and that is how corporations earn money. A fact supported by Kasse Tim and Linn Susan (2004)

A fact is that if you focus on trying to find advertisment for teens then you will find the most on t.v or social media rather than on a billboard. Advertisers are sneaky people and only want to advertise in places where teens are mostly around. They notice that teens will beg their parents for a products they see a commercial about. Oren wraps up her idea by stating that advertisers main focus is to advertise to teens through social media or t.v
