Every day, millions of kids play violent video games and are influenced to behave badly. While kids are playing violent video games, the seed of violence becomes planted inside of them. Violent role-playing games promote sabotage, killing, and war, which are not good for children to be experiencing at a young, impressionable age. Studies have shown that playing games with violent components is linked to aggression in youth. Lastly, war is a real occurrence, and these games desensitize what war really is. Many people die in war, and these games teach kids less of an appreciation for life. Simulated violence games are perilous for kids.
Violent games include killing people. Role playing games that include murder may make kids think killing is okay. In the article “Do Games Like ‘Grand Theft Auto V’ Cause Real-World Violence?” the author makes the point, “Not everyone can draw lines between fiction and reality.” At a young age, kids can be influenced and ideas can be put inside their heads very easily. Without proper guidance, young people can see war in these games and think that it is not so bad. Furthermore, in these games the players are rewarded for killing. As a result of this, kids develop a disrespect for life. War and killing are real issues that should not be taken lightly.

The article “Shooting in the Dark” describes a study conducted by a psychologist at Iowa State University.
