The Hunting Ground "The Hunting Ground" , seen April 10,11, and 12, covered the topic of campus rape. The true

story behind the documentary is as hocking fact about campus rape. Rape is a very big problem

on college campuses. It is not taken that serious in some colleges. About 16% of women are

assaulted on campus and 88% of them do not report it. A lot of times when rape is reported, it is

not as serious as it should be. The rapist might get suspended for a semester of some kind of

simple punishment but it is very rare that they get expelled or arrested. In 2012. 45% of colleges

reported 0 sexual assaults. This shows how a very small amount of people report rape. This

I looked up one of the rapists

Jameis Winston and I found out that he has BB gun complaint, sexual assault allegation,

shoplifting incidents and vulgar comment but he was still seen the great football player while his

victim struggled with her life because he raped her. I was so angry while I was watching this

documentary. I could not believe how ignorant some people were to rape. Some of them even

had the nerve to judge and blame the victims. The way the documentary was presented showed

the emotions of these girls. Looking at the girls, I would have never thought that they were

raped. Watching them breakdown and explain the situation was difficult to look at. The

presentation of the documentary makes them interested and teach them a valuable lesson. The

most important concept i learned was that you can only fully rely on yourself to make a change.

You cannot expect someone to stand up for you or protect you. Another lesson I learned was you

have to be very careful around the people you know and do not know. Especially at places like

parties, where a lot of people would be there and alcohol and drugs might be involved. I
