This documentary shows two sides of a huge story. Dealing with the media in espn and the NFL, and Ricky Williams, a former Running Back for the University of Texas who won two All-American awards and a Heisman trophy. He was anything but a modern day athlete and did not conform. In 2004 Ricky Williams retired from the Miami organization and the game of football after another rumor of a looming failed drug test. Days before training camp he retired and gave up his mansion and cars in south florida to buy a little land in Australia and live in a tent. This created a huge deal in the media and he then became the media's punching bag and target. The media continued to bash on him saying that he completely ruined his life leaving the game, but he Ricky's perspective, he was only trying to save it. …show more content…

This helps you understand both sides of the complete story, while the media claimed him as the " NFL dropout and Pothead" Ricky had a different view on what he did. Claiming " I wanted to save my mind and body, I was losing myself. When would have it been okay for me to retire? After I blew my knees or ruined my shoulders?" This created a huge frenzy. One of his old coaches even states " He has the mind of a Yogi and the body of a football player" This just shows you what kind of person he was.
