Is social media causing kids to become troublemakers during school? Kids world is on social media, it's time to become a part of it. Even though social media are not allowed in school there are quite a few ways that allowing social media can keep people informed, by keeping kids engaged, helping parents stay connected, and allowing teachers to contact the parent or student whenever they need in or out of school.There are multiple people who do not have a way to reach the staff in the school or receive any information they need at home. Not everyone has a computer to find that information. If students are not allowed to use our phones to view emails, text messages or anything that sort they cannot get that information. Students also need to be able to reach our parents for rides or any other stuff we might need. Using social media can and will help parents stay connected. “Schools are busy places, and parents need a trusted place to find the right information. But information is not enough -- gone are the days of the website being just a digital brochure. Now it needs to facilitate two-way communication” (Stribbell 1).One reason is, this shows that social media allow parents to speak with teachers or any staff members at the school. “It must be mobile friendly. It must work on phones and tablets as well as desktops. No exceptions.It must be easy to update, preferably automatically. For example, the information we add into our Google calendar automatically updates on our website. For static pages, make sure the content stays current” (Stribbell 1). For one, this shows that students can take notice of what is happening through any device. They can also view new events or school programs that are being held that week or month. In conclusion, they could find out when there are any cancellations of school or after school
