The article “Does the Internet Make You Dumber?” whose writer being Nicholas Carr,was published in The Wall Street Journal by Dow Jones and Company based in New York City, USA. Nicholas G. Carr (born 1959) is known to be an American writer who has published books and articles on technology, business, and culture. His book The Shallows: What the Internet Is Doing to Our Brains was a finalist for the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for General Nonfiction. Carr states in his article that “we’re turning into shallow thinkers.” He asserts that today, the internet grants us easy access to unprecedented amounts of information and due to its constant distractions and interruptions we are also turning into scattered and superficial thinkers.
