Because of its many complexity’s, the Nevada state legislature has various strengths and weaknesses and some components are both. For example, the 120-day session restriction. The restriction saves the state money, because the longer a session runs the costlier it becomes, even though the state only pays a salary for the first 60 days, they still pay expenses for the second 60. However, this session restriction also forces the legislator to do a lot in a relatively short time. Which can lead to questionable decision making, such as when the time the senate passed 9 bills in seven minutes (pg. 72). Another weakness of the legislature, is the decision to have biennale sessions rather than annual sessions, which has created problems for the
Imagine an entire planet that is self-sustatinable, peace loving, as well as cooperative with one another. Like any planet with intelligent species this planet has its fair share of problems and challenges. One of those challenges that the alien planet faces is exactly like our planets version of a radical right-wing movement, or coalition, that intends to bring make the use of their planets natural resources, remove illegal (unwanted) aliens, and change the basis of which that planet does business. The coalition's leaders' name is Tonald Drump. He is an arrogant, bombastic fellow, who very much loves to hear himself speak non-sense.
Trump known for his strong opinions on foreign relations seems to favor another President’s policy. James Madison’s Non-Intercourse Act (1809) was put in place to lift the embargo on all other countries except London and France; however, the act did not help and just led to the coming War of 1812. This is not to say that Trump will lead the American country to war, but his hard will opinions on muslims and mexicans have led to heated debate. In modern times, war, drugs, and violence not only plague the nation but the world. Trump known for his comments on his plan “ to stop immigration from any nation that has been compromised by terrorism,”notes CNN, is what many are calling a ban on muslims.
“..Republican front-runner businessman Donald Trump, says he’ll undo Obama 's executive orders on immigration,” Article Two Sisters Two Americas by Brooke Ross states on page 11 in the New York Times Upfront April 4, 2016 edition. This has sparked outrage among people who know that most of the immigrants are good people who are trying to flee from violence that threatens to tear apart their lives. Brooke Ross helps people understand what life is like for families with a mixed-status and what we need to do about illegal immigration in her article Two Sisters Two Americas. By showing both sides of the big Democrat v Republican fight on what should be done about illegal immigration she lets people come to their own conclusions. The evidence however is firmly in favor of helping the immigrants by offering a path to
Trump uses his stereotypical description of immigrants as a scapegoat for the nation’s drug and crime problems, and the audience is easily wooed. Trump describes the immigrants as “they” and the audience as “you”. This along with his descriptions creates a clear cut distinction between the citizens and immigrants, creating a fear of the unknown. He then goes on to say, “ we have no protection and we have no competence, we don’t know what’s happening” (“Full Text: Donald Trump Announces a Presidential Bid."). This statement further instills fear into the audience as they now have a feeling of helplessness in their own country.
Trump plans to take out DACA which is a program that million of youth Immigrants use. Many dreamers rely on DACA since it provides them permit for work and protection from deportation. Trump wants to reduce the number of Immigrants in the U.S He pledged to cancel DACA during his presidential campaign. In the article “Homeland Security” by Alan Gomez, He states that about 750,000 Illegal Immigrants receive DACA which leads to a attainable education.
Five years ago, President Obama ordered that young illegal immigrants be protected from deportation, a program known as DACA. As a candidate, Donald Trump promised to rescind that protection. He could have done it on his first day in office—but he didn’t, and still hasn’t, for reasons no one quite understands. Now, President Trump appears poised to revoke DACA. The action has not been officially announced, and administration sources believe that the impulsive president’s mind is not totally made up, but he is reportedly planning to do so as soon as Friday.
The new generation of children in our country are the dreamers and we must protect them. Our current President Donald Trump. As of recently our President's administration, as our country's leaders had decided to end DACA. This decision puts all of the dreamers at risk of deportation.
President Obama’s immigration reform bill would keep five million illegal immigrants from being deported, but Republicans are saying the Obama Administration tried to bypass Congress in trying to change the immigration policies. The executive order from Obama will go to the Supreme Court for a ruling. If it passed, this immigration order would allow undocumented parents of children born in the US, who are US citizens, to get work permits and stay in the country as long as they do not commit any crimes. Immigration advocates feel this is the humane thing to do. (Bredemeier)
Most of America is fed up with his ways already, and wants him impeached. Trump just can't be taken seriously at all. He is not fit to run our country at all, I think that he should be impeached due to his immaturity. According to Huffington Post he claimed a judge was biased because he was mexican Donald said ” He's just a mexican. “The answer is, he is giving us very unfair rulings — rulings that people can’t even believe.
Recent events in the past decade has cause many people to portrayed immigrants as terrorists, illegal immigrants, gang affiliated members, drug dealers, etc. This raises questions regarding closing the border or limiting the number of people that can migrate to America. Politicians and law makers are too concerned about this matter and had propose solutions and issue laws in attempt to stop foreigners from coming to America. However, as both sides pushes for their ideas on the issue, it is ultimately up to the younger generation to decide the future of immigrants living in America.
There are about, if not more, 11.3 million undocumented immigrants in the United States of America only in 2014. Mexicans make up about half of all unauthorized immigrants (52%), even though their numbers have been declining over the past years. The numbers have declined because it is said that just under Barack Obamas Presidency has deported 1.4 million undocumented immigrants while in office. An immigration reform would be helpful because it would boost the economy, increase tax revenue, decrease government deportation expenses, and in gaining legal status it will help keep families together. Many people oppose it but with the right regulations a reform, which both parties agree on, can be passed.
Those who live among poverty and violence look to America and see a wonderful country filled with opportunity. However, in recent months, America has become a laughingstock, a joke. Donald Trump, as well as many conservative Republicans would like to would like to build a wall separating America from Mexico, limit a woman’s choices, and deny current citizens basic psychological and physical assistance. We should work towards building human connections, not walls. Our future president will have the power to implement an immigration policy and make decisions that will effect the immigrants who currently reside within our borders.
Immigration is defines as the action of leaving one's home country to start a new life in another country. Immigration has been a recent topic for politicians and the new president elect of the Donald trump. Undocumented immigrants serve as a problem to our nation's economy and well being both socially and economically. Illegal immigrants pose economic and social problems in the United States. Illegal immigrants receive approximately 9.3 million dollars in benefits from the Government while they only pay 3 million dollars in taxes.
Dear Mr. President, Here are the basic principles guiding my work as the Director in charge of Immigration to the United States: I believe there should be a limit of 675,000 immigrants a year because if there are too many immigrants in the U.S., there could be an overwhelming amount of unemployment because there wouldn’t be enough jobs and resources for everyone. I also believe that there should be thorough background checks on every immigrant entering the country because of terrorism happening in the world right now. However, I don’t think that immigrants from certain countries should be discriminated against because of their religion or skin color like has been mentioned by the president elect Donald Trump.
