Donald Trump: Speech on Afghanistan
August 21st, 2017, Donald trump conducted a speech on the Afghanistan war that has been going on for 17 years, his proposition is to end the war shortly. In his speech, Trump depicted the strategy that he desires to engage in, to end the war. He lays out what he desires to do by stating a positive statement of what he fancies to do, but then strikes back with something he will exclude. In trumps speech, he utilizes the words: Afghanistan, terrorist, American, and People heavily. These repetitious words convey two types of unintended messages, the first is that Afghanistan is the main problem and therefore should be responsible for the problem; the second is that the American people are another complication where the United States is too occupied in conflictions between each other, to focus on the obstacle at hand.

The repetitious words in this word cloud stipulate a multitude of unintended messages. These messages convey ideas that Trump did not directly say. These conveyed ideas show that the message Trump transmits about the war strategy may not be identical with what he believes. The messages I settled with were that Afghanistan needs to take the sole burden in supporting for the war, and that our racial disagreements in America hinder the way we fight the war today.
While Trump targets the military and military family’s audience at camp David, his speech features the strategy to end the Afghanistan war.
