Dr. Seuss When a man puts his heart and soul into something it will flourish. That is exactly what Dr. Seuss did with his writing. Dr. Seuss also known as Theodor Seuss Gesiel is a child writer that written some of the most famous children’s books ever. He lived a very eventful and enjoyable life all the way from college at Dartmouth University to selling millions of books still today. Theodor Seuss Geisel attended Dartmouth University and majored in English. After Dartmouth he attended Oxford College in England. (Gale) Seuss would later drop out of Oxford after finding graduate study dull, this choice earned him the nickname that he would later gain as is official nam nom de plume, Dr. Seuss. Dr. Seuss's book And To Think I Saw it On Mulberry was turned down by many publishers until a former classmate from Dartmouth turned publisher brought it to the light of day. After this encounter his work took off. The Cat in the Hat was his first big success without any editorial input. Also, Many of Seuss's best books have meanings behind them. He used adult prejudice in Green Eggs and Ham and the Cold War in The Butter Battle Book.
