The DREAM Team brings a community of undocumented students together. By showing other them that they were not alone, other DREAMers were able to come out about his/her status. I had never being part of a club before, and after attending their meetings I regretted not knowing about the DREAM Team before. Being able to sympathize with one another made me have a feeling of belonging. I also saw them working closely with one another to gain support and raise awareness on immigrant reforms that affect thousands of undocumented students. The DREAMers are potential students with exceptional abilities and so much talent to give back to America. However, I was intrigued when doing research because I could not find articles about DREAM Teams at CUNY campuses. This made me realize that DREAMers have not yet received as much recognition as they deserve. …show more content…

It showed me that there was a community of undocumented students at City College. I never considered myself a “DREAMer” because I thought that the DREAMers were only the students who met the requirements established by the D.R.E.A.M. Act. However, the DREAM Team showed me that anyone can be a DREAMer as long as you have a dream. It made me feel like I was neglecting that side of who I am, a DREAMer. Regardless of the circumstances and obstacles, the DREAMers have goals they want to accomplish. The DREAM Team clarified all my doubts allowing me to get rid of the stereotypes I had towards them. If I had had the time, I would have liked to do a more extensive search on the origins of DREAM Team. I want to know if there are DREAM Teams at other states and learn how they help other students advocate for themselves. I also would have liked to visit other DREAM Teams at other CUNY campuses. I’m curious at knowing how they inspire other students to come out of the shadows and the activities they do to raise awareness and get
