The dress code targets, and body shames girls. First, the he dress code does not work because girls are all shaped different. Another reason is females are forced to feel bad about themselves and may cause health issues and eating disorders. Third example, teachers and authority figures will use the dress code as an excuse to leave subtle messages and make girls feel bad about themselves; telling them they are inappropriate. The dress code needs to be changed or just diminished because it does more damage than good.

They are told that their body is wrong since they were little; causing damage to their health. The dress code is causing more issues than its worth, health issues at that. Girls as young as preschool are told to cover their shoulders and their legs; making them embarrassed of themselves and their bodies. That may cause them hurting themselves later in life. This subtle message that's telling them; their body is not right, that there is something wrong with it. That they need to change it to better suit others. One in 200 American women suffers from anorexia. Two to three in 100 American women suffers from bulimia. 1.1% - 4.2% of females suffer from bulimia nervosa in their lifetime. As many as 10% of college women suffer from a clinical or nearly clinical eating disorder, including 5.1% who suffer from bulimia nervosa. Which is all linked to low self esteem issues. At such a young age we are told that we should cover ourselves and that we are the issue; that there is something wrong with our bodies. That may end up being clinically ill later in life.
