Many teenagers either decide to drink or are pressured to drink before they turn 18 because they are revealed to alcohol every day. As a high school senior I have been invited to many parties hosted by individuals drink a lot. I grew up in a city where many activities are available so when I hear of all the parties being hosted, I think about cities that don't have many attractions. Just thinking about the endless amount of parties being hosted by people younger than 21 years old is overwhelming because the legal drinking age is 21. Having this bigger community can relieve the pressure that a teenager has when entering this “dangerous life” in college. The pressure of drinking in college is unbelievably hard for those who are trying to fit in, and all teenagers in college or trying to fit in so they can have friends to help them become successful. Lastly, the drinking age is useless in an adolescent’s mind because “a certain amount of risk is involved in every attempt to impose legal limits on behavior”(McAloon). This quote states that a little bit of risk can get you what you want if you try hard enough. College freshmen and sophomores want to become popular so they can have a wider connection and benefits would be further progress in college. These college students are willing to try anything to gain acceptance, legit or not. When you going to college the main goal is to fit in and find your purpose and one of the first steps to get to know people.
