Drug abuse is a damaging issue occurring all over the world, putting many lives at risk each day with casualties increasing tremendously. This research focuses on how drug abuse develops, how it affects our brain and our body, and the cycle you go through, as well as relapse. This will connect to Octavia Butler’s novel, Parable of the Sower, supporting the events surrounding drug use, and illustrates the character development within those in the story.
