It is obvious that drug abuse is growing more and more prominent in teens at large costs. Those who do drugs often see psychiatrists, internists and other specialists because of the effects drugs leave on the minds and bodies of those who are hooked. This problem is so interwoven into society that we don’t notice the things that make us “escape from reality”. It could be that we get “high on technology” where we scroll through instagram, watch TV, or play video games. These all could affect the way teens think and view drugs causing a larger problem on school campus and sport teams. In the 7th paragraph when Dr. Keith says “Anyone who wishes not to be drug tested would have the option of not participating in them,” he is really saying those who do drugs are welcome not to play sports. Drugs are addictive and throw kids down. Being able to get involved in sports is a great thing that helps kids avoid or try to escape from the grasp drugs may have on them. The article says “Parents could then choose whether to tie further participation in team sports to their kids getting help and getting clean.” The reality is that drug tests implemented for athletes would lead to nobody doing drugs would want to play sports. With this, noone doing drugs would try out for sports meaning no parents would make a decision to further their son or daughter in playing sports. If drug testing for sports in High School began, less kids would play sports and the group of people who have nothing to do after school will grow and drag each other down more and more into a bottomless
