I am a student in DVBS, and I often need to explain my school repeatedly. Although it was sometimes uncomfortable for me to describe my “no-name” school, I am proud to be a student in Developing Virtue Boys School. Believe it or not, an organization with several wealthy and powerful figures, including Obama's previous lawyer, once gave a lecture in my school about their realization in kindness. They explained how kindness could help students become successful in the future. However, they didn't know that kindness was one practice students in DVBS learned everyday. My school had taught me things that many adults just learned when they grew up. Without DVBS, I would have remained to be a selfish, arrogant teenager who would abandon myself whenever a problem occurs. …show more content…

Nevertheless, these students rarely brag or flaunt about themselves. They only remember the mistake they make before and do their best to prevent themselves from repeating it. The same thing applies to me. I vividly recall myself joining a drumming club and learning everything that I hadn't learned before, while having other experienced club members looked at me as if I was a coward. I often failed to memorize drumming routine and emerge the drumbeats with corresponding body movements. As a newbie drummer, I had to practice how to pause instantly and remain in a tiring pose. Timing was also an extremely important and difficult skill to learn in drumming. I imagined myself arriving in a mysterious planet where people didn't speak my language. Furthermore, I would have to understand “the language” within four weeks since I was going to perform in a
