Introduction
Kasey first needs to know that there is more than one way to write each sound. It can show her how exactly the language works and help reduce worries or confusion. When creating an intervention material for Kasey, she needs to first feel confident and be willing to try. Often a dyslexic’s self-esteem can be low because of their previous failure. When her confidence is being established it is much easier to slowly progress to harder tasks.
Intervention Material
The intervention approach created is called “Blend them closer”. This material incorporates the Orton-Gillingham approach which uses the multisensory teaching methods that teach Kasey through her senses: auditory, tactile, visual and kinesthetic.
