Introduction
In Europe, Rome ruled the known world during the Early Middle Ages and arrogantly called their emperors “The Rulers of the Whole World” (Bauer, 2007, p. 5). However, a major change was about to take place and Rome was about to abandon their control to invading barbarians. The fall of Rome ushered in a period now known as the Early Middle Ages.
