In the movie The Christmas Carol, Ebenezer Scrooge is visited by three spirits. Scrooge did not like Christmas because his partner died on Christmas eve. This caused him to hate Christmas, and become a cold, hearted person. His last visit effected him in an emotional way. It changed the way he looks at the world, and has emotions for the people around him.
He is visited by the three spirits of Christmas. He gets a visit by the spirit of Christmas past, the present, and the future! These three spirits are on a very difficult mission to help Scrooge get that happy, wonderful spirit. After three hours Scrooge will become a changed man who is ready for Christmas with his family and everyone else. I believe, though, that the spirit of the future changed him the most.
Dickens explores the theme of transformation in his novella- A Christmas Carol- by Scrooge’s attitude to the poor and how it converts over the course of his redemption. As a result of his divine intervention; he changes from a selfish and self-centred man consumed by greed to someone charitable and caring. The most notable difference in Scrooge is how he views those living in poverty and the struggles they face. In the opening Stave of the novella, Scrooge is clearly demonstrated as apathetic to those other than himself.

The main character of A Christmas Carol Ebenezer Scrooge thinks wealth is man’s business and finally he learns his lesson, that common welfare in man’s business. Dickens shows that people should make common welfare their business because it is the right thing to do as shown through Scrooge’s character development. Scrooge’s mindset is wealth that impacted him and leaving him solitary and greedy.
Scrooge returns home to find the ghost of his old business partner, Jacob Marley confronting him, Marley shows Scrooge the chains and the torture of the afterlife that Scrooge will experience if he doesn’t change his ways, Marley says that 3 spirits will appear once the bell tolls at a certain time, The Ghosts Of Christmas Past, Present, and Future, Marley says that these spirits will haunt Scrooge to change his horrible personality. Scrooge initially asks if he can have all three at once, which angers Marley and causes him to lash out a bit. This terrifies Scrooge and he promises to take the spirits. A bit after this incident,

Charles Dickens’ novel “A Christmas Carol” shows the main character Scrooge as being haunted by three spirits on Christmas Eve. Dickens presents these supernatural entities with historic appearances, which have a strong reflection on the character and development of Scrooge. This is often overlooked on first read. The first example of this is the appearance of The Ghost of Christmas Past, which is used by Dickens to physicalize the mentality of Scrooge. The spirit is described as “like a child” and represents the child that is still inside him; It is his childhood that caused him to hate the festive season and he still holds the grudge, that being “a lonely boy” during Christmas set.

Scrooge in "The Christmas Carol" shows how much he hates Christmas, and everyone he works with to change to a happy person with the help of others. Scrooge emphasizes, "What a fine day fellow... An Intelligent boy, a remarkable boy. " This is a critical part of this novel because this shows Scrooge overcame his dislike of Christmas and his entire disliking of people. Instead of rudely gesturing to people, he is now starting to act nicer, and more mature.
One day on Christmas Eve, His nephew Fred, came to Scrooge’s workplace He came to ask Scrooge if Scrooge wanted to celebrate christmas with his family and wish him a merry christmas, Scrooge said no like he always does and goes back to work after that he told his nephew to leave after he left Cratchit the coworker, was asking for christmas off scrooge said yes but, Cratchit has to come early to work early on the morning after christmas. Scrooge went home and he was visited by Marley Scrooge's only friend that passed away, Marley said that Scrooge had to change into a better person or else he will be wearing a heavy and long chain in his afterlife. Then Marley sent three spirits to change Scrooge’s future, the three spirits are, The Ghost of Christmas past, The Ghost of Christmas Present, and The Ghost of Christmas Future. That night he was visited by The Ghost of Christmas Past, He brang Scrooge to see himself when he when he was a little boy.
The story centres upon the redemption of Ebenezer Scrooge, a heartless man of business who thrives of the despair of others. Scrooge offers no pity towards the poor, and his heartless tirade at the portly gentlemen who come collecting for the poor on Christmas Eve ("If they would rather die... they had better do it, and decrease the surplus population") sticks out as the most damming indictment of his character. Of course, by the story's end, Scrooge is a changed man, who embraces the spirit of Christmas and becomes a second father to the children of his employee Bob Cratchit. Scrooge's new found love of Christmas highlights the second most crucial point of A Christmas Carol. Dickens' wrote the tale at a time when forgotten Christmas traditions were experiencing a resurgence in popularity in Victorian England.
At the beginning scrooge is bitter ,and he wants nothing to do with Christmas. “‘ Nephew!’ returned the uncle sternly, ‘keep Christmas in your own way, and let me keep it in mine.’”
After Marley warns him not to end up like himself, and informs him that he will be visited by three ghosts, the first ghost arrives in Scrooge’s home. This is the the Ghost of Christmas Past. The spirit is dressed in a bright white tunic and is holding branch of luscious green holly. The ghost shows him scenes from when he was younger. These scenes make a massive impact on Scrooge.
